George II Walnut Chest, C. 1730
A very fine circa 1730 English late George I, early George II period beautifully age patinated bookmatched walnut and 'micro-dentil' boxwood inlaid chest of atypical drawer configuration, the molded-edge top on front canted and fluted corner case, the top two drawers above pull-out brushing slide a top lower three, all with period, if not original brass hardware, on thick bracket supports.
Professionally restored. Molded edge top with typical "alligatoring", historic veneer and inlay repairs, brushing slide with age shrinkage and non-detracting minor board bowing, all stable. Presents beautifully.
