A very chic and distinctive Asian fish-bowl form planter of large scale by late New York master potter and sculptor M. Jay Lindsay having cobalt blue and white wax resistant glaze, the gently flared rim banded with an abstract circular foliate pattern, the body with Japanesque spread-winged swans and cranes amid swirls and other abstract foliates on herringbone patterned foot; signed and dated to the interior. Biography: M. Jay Lindsay (June 14, 1943 – September 27, 2015) was a New York-based American artist, master potter, ceramicist, teacher, sculptor, and painter best known for his large-scale pottery, figurative bronzes, and sculptural work for Tallix Art Foundry, Beacon, New York. His various works are held in many prestigious International public and private collections.
