Looking quintessentially Mario Buatta is this wonderful circa 1820 English regency period mahogany stool having tall upholstered seat with original needlepoint or tapestry, the top depicting a spaniel carrying a letter in its mouth and all sides having a wide running foliate rope pattern, on turned and reeded legs. An interior frame support is inscribed “Ellen Garner a present from her Mother November 14th 1892” and the webbing is double signed “J. C. Sharpe”, presumably the needleworker.
