English William IV period, bronze table lamp attributed to the Birmingham firm of Thomas Messenger and Sons depicting Atlas supporting the earth with swiveling ring on quadraform plinth base with panel, god-head, and acanthus motifs. Originally a sinumbra lamp, it was converted to electricity in the early 20th century.
